The emergency department at Al-Makassed Hospital has 24 beds to serve the needs of the surrounding communities. The emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by doctors and nurses specially trained to handle emergency cases upon arrival at the department. The emergency department includes several departments where patients are received and cared for in preparation for their admission to the various hospital departments. These departments are:
1- Small operating unit.
2- Cardiac resuscitation unit for children and adults.
3- Waiting unit with 10 beds where patients are admitted and carefully monitored.
4- Radiology unit.
Upon arrival of patients to the emergency department, the specialized nurse sorts each case according to the severity of the disease in order to prioritize treatment and expedite it for patients who are in greater need than others.
