Introduction to the Department and its Staff:
The Social Service Department provides many social, psychological and counseling services to patients residing in the Al-Maqasid Islamic Charitable Society Hospital and their families. The department operates with a qualified staff of four individuals specialized in the field of social service and psychological and social counseling, and the department is professionally supervised by a psychologist holding a PhD.
Department Objectives:
Providing many diverse and distinguished services to patients suffering from difficult economic, health, psychological and social conditions, with a focus on marginalized and deprived groups.
Integrating the psychological and social concept with the medical concept inside and outside the hospital in order to improve a comprehensive service concerned with the general health of the patient from a physical, psychological and social perspective.
Providing psychological and social services to employees and their children in the hospital.
Services provided by the department:
Studying the social cases of patients, where the social and economic status of the family is examined after applying for assistance, and making recommendations in this regard.
Providing psychological counseling services to the resident patient and his family, in order to help them in the process of accepting the disease and dealing with the patient and his condition, and helping them understand the effects of the disease on the patient's life in the future.
Assist in rehabilitating the patient and his family, taking the necessary measures for his return home, and preparing psychologically for emergency health changes.
Coordinating with social and health institutions to help patients or transfer them to complete treatment or rehabilitation.
Providing a recreational room that aims to create a comfortable and familiar atmosphere for the child to get him out of his isolation and relieve his pain, under the supervision of a specialized social counselor for children, who follows up on the child from psychological, social and educational aspects.
Providing a library for adults and children that benefits resident patients, containing more than 500 books in many specialties, in addition to monthly periodicals and stories for children.
Providing community awareness by holding courses, workshops, conferences, conducting studies and research, and publishing bulletins and brochures related to psychological and social aspects.
Organizing recreational activities for patients and their companions on official occasions and holidays, and providing some gifts.
Following up on issues of suggestions and complaints related to patients and their companions.
Supervising some volunteer programs at the hospital
