Molecular Genetics Laboratory

Book a Consultation

The Molecular Genetics Laboratory was established in October 1998 as part of the outpatient clinic building at Al-Makassed Islamic Charitable Society Hospital, and is headed by Dr. Professor Suhail Ayesh.

The Molecular Genetics Laboratory is the first diagnostic laboratory in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the only one that diagnoses the fetus for several genetic diseases such as thalassemia, rickets, and others.

The center's mission is to provide patients with accurate, high-quality, affordable, and timely molecular genetic tests.

The laboratory aims to become the first molecular diagnostic center in the region. This laboratory seeks to provide special courses in molecular technology for interested institutes and individuals, as well as to cooperate with scientists and colleagues in Palestine and abroad for training and research projects.

Despite the difficult political situation in Palestine and despite the blockade that hinders the access of patients, staff, and necessary materials to the Molecular Genetics Laboratory, the center is making great efforts to develop this laboratory and arrange the work of the tests on time according to the prepared program.
