Jerusalem, 22/03/2018 – The administration of Makassed Islamic Charitable Hospital in Jerusalem issued a statement reporting that an Israeli police force had stormed the Hospital’s Emergency Department late on March 18, and arrested a 14-year-old patient.
The administration condemned the raid, adding that the Israeli forces arrived at the hospital accompanied by a doctor and arrested the patient after signing a letter taking responsibility for his health condition.
The Hospital’s administration stressed in its statement that the actions of the Israeli occupation forces are a blatant and flagrant violation of international humanitarian laws and treaties, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention, which states in Article 18 that “civilian hospitals organized to give care to the wounded and sick, the infirm and maternity cases, may in no circumstances be the object of attack but shall at all times be respected and protected by the Parties to the conflict.”
